About Me
Who are you?
I’m a Marianne that could do with some saving. Not unlike whale, tiger etc. Feel free to not shoot me, thanks. Add me to your google+. I’m also the Nottingham “UK cityslicker” ambassador/writer for Lomography.
What is this tumblr?
It’s a webpage for me to share my photography with the wide world, I hope you like my photos. All photos were taken by me, processed by a high street lab/a retired photographer with a darkroom/me and the negatives are scanned in. I like to keep the photos as raw and original as possible, for me that’s the joy and frustration of analogue photography. I prefer analogue over digital because I enjoy only having one chance to capture that moment.
If you check out my archive, you’ll see my photography ranges from more classic black and white to vibrant lomo styles. Above all, I love street photography. By day I am a psychologist, so even behind a lens, human nature fascinates me.

Where do you get your awkward films processed? (UK only obviously)
I get slide films done in my local Jessops. They do cross process into prints on 1 hour or next day for £6 (£3 for develop only). However, I recently discovered not all Jessops do this as they aren’t strictly supposed to, I think my local branch is doing this on the sly… Thus I’m not naming them. But it’s worth asking your local Jessops just in case it’s the same one as mine!
I get 120 films done by a lovely professional photographer who has a darkroom in his house. It costs me £1.50 to get process only, and 35p per print. So it works out as £5.70 for the process and print per roll of black and white 120 film. He also does colour for £2.50 a roll, but he doesn’t do slide film. He is willing to take on more work and does a mail postal service for anywhere in the UK, so if you are interested in using him, please use the ask button and I’ll pass on details.
Can I ask you another question? This page didn’t tell me what I wanted to know…
Why yes, of course, ask away!
